Auxiliary power is key to enjoying your vehicle as the base for your outdoor adventures. By separating the two electronic systems or circuits and corresponding batteries – one being the one that starts and runs your vehicle – aka main battery, and the other one being the one powering all your lights, heat and other appliances at camp – aka auxiliary battery, you are set up for any overlanding adventure. MultiPlus 12/1200/50 is a high-quality combined charger and inverter in the MultiPlus series from VictronEnergy. This is a powerful true sine wave converter, a sophisticated battery charger that features adaptive charging technology and a high speed AC switch in a single compact package. With this, I can use 220v power in the car, and easily connect to a regular socket for «land power» or charging the battery when I have access to this. It is an enormous luxury to have such a device in the car with all the possibilities it provides. It is also space-saving with one unit rather than a separate charger and inverter – this one has both parts. This unit also has the “shore power” option – at home or at any location where I have access to regular 220V power, I can just plug it in directly and enjoy all the electrical luctury installed in my rig while charging the auxillary battery at the same time.
