Arctic Trucks Installing the Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

The wait is finally over, the day is here. The guys at Arctic Truck Norway are installing my long-awaited Alu-Cab Canopy Camper.

I arrived in Drammen the day before the install was going to take place. I brought a tent and found a great camping spot about 30 minutes from Drammen. That night I did not get much sleep as the butterflies in my stomack kept me busy thing about what was about to happen the next day. On the positive side, though, I was ready outside of Arctic Trucks Norway very early the next morning.

Rise and shine, Arctic Trucks Norway!

I spent almost two days at Arctic Trucks Norway. I arrived early on day 1, and the work was done on day 2 at arround 14:00. I was allowed to work from Arctic Trucks Norway’s premises, lunch was provided and I was taken really good care of by Børre, Cato, Trude and the rest of the team – thank you so much!

While my pickup was being worked on, Børre lent me this amazing Toyota Land Cruiser AT37. I was able to take it for a quick spin over at ABAS Marin to pick up my 160W Allblack Solar Panel – what a great car!

As I was staying for two days, I was allowed to take this incredible rig for my overnight stay. I found this amazing spot along Eikeren not far from Hakavik Power Station. Again, thank you so much for your incredible customer service, Arctic Trucks Norway!

Pretty decent camping spot, don’t you think?

Back at Arctic Trucks my truck was being worked on. I understand it is a bit of a puzzle to piece together all the parts that come with the Alu-Cab Canopy Camper and to make the truck bed ready for install. At this stage the camper is being lifted and truck and the camper are soon to be joined together.

My first glimpse of the camper.

Børre noticed my eagerness to view this thing closer up so he brought me into the workshop to talk with the guys working on my truck. In this picture you can spot the mount for the Alu-Cab table – this is one of the items you need to decide if you want prior to pairing the camper with you vehicle, as there is no room to install it once the two are joined.

The join is complete and I can finally get a real look at it.

First look – and it’s looking good!

It’s really strange to finally see the result of this install. I had been imaginging for so long how it would look, and I had been planning for so long all the things I would do once this part was done – and now I am finally there.

These guys are true masters of their trade.

Thank you! I’ve got a swift 8 hours drive ahead of me back home, but I’ll be back, for sure!

See you again soon, Arctic Trucks!
