My name is Edgar Stokka. My professional career is within the IT consulting industry, currently working as a Managing Consultant and Team Leader at Capgemini in Stavanger, Norway. Apart from my day-job, I run a small webdesign company - Innertier Webdesign - and I do my best to try to keep updated on technology trends. About me

Edgar Stokka My name is Edgar Stokka, and as already mentioned above I work as a Managing Consultant and Team Leader for Capgemini at the Stavanger branch in Norway. Apart from being a manager for 15 other consultants, I am also heading the AD&M department (Application Development & Maintenance). I have been with Capgemini since 2005, and I love my job and the various working days and endless possibilities of being a consultant.

I am pretty good at keeping myself occupied, and apart from my day-job I also run a small company of my own, Innertier Webdesign. It is a web design company where I get to play around with web technologies, design, usability and other stuff which I am genuinely interested in. I have a passion for technology, in particular technology coming out of Redmond. Since January 2008 until end of August 2010 I was the chapter lead of the Norwegian .NET User Group (NNUG) in Stavanger, a community of about 300 .NET developers, architects and technicians in the Stavanger area.

I also have a passion for photography, being a sworn Canon supporter. And I love motorcycles, in particular the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure! I try to stay moderately fit enjoying the occasionally indoor soccer sessions, regular bike rides, hiking and camping, hunting and fishing.

Education

After almost 19 years of studies I feel that I have a relatively long and varied education. To finish studying at the age of 30 (I finished in 2004) is not uncommon these days, and I believe being "mature" and having some real life experience has helped me during my studies.

After Officer Academy I wanted to study law, but an introduction course at Næringsakademiet made me change my mind, and I started my IT studies at DPH (now NITH). In early 2001 I was on my way to Australia for further studies, and returned home after three and a half years of studies with a bachelor degree and two master degrees in my luggage, in addition to unforgettable memories from my stay "Down Under".

Work Experience

After getting my first real job at the age of 16, I have managed to combine my studies with an interesting mix of jobs. I really loved the years spent in the army, but my interests have changed along with my studies, and I am truly exited about the field of work I am in at the moment, and I am exited about the future within the company I work for, and not to mention the endless opportunities and fascinating development within our line of business.
